Botanical Name: Camellia sinensis
Qualities:Matcha is known to be the finest green tea in the world. Shade-grown (to enhance chlorophyll content) and hand-picked, it is made from the finest whole tea leaves. After stems and veins have been removed, the leaves (aka Tencha) are carefully stone ground on artisanal granite mills to produce a very fine (5-10 microns) powder which means you are consuming the entire leaf when drinking Matcha.
There are many different grades of Matcha, ranging from Ingredient/Food grade, which are the most affordable Matcha tea as they are blended with older leaves, resulting in a stronger flavor, to our Superiorgrade Matcha(a lower grade ceremonial grade which is a delicate and mild drinking Matcha ideal for daily consumption), to various ceremonial grades (the most expensive ones are primarily used for tea ceremonies in Japan).
Suggested use: Ingredient/Food grade Matcha can be added to foods and beverages such as smoothies, protein shake, lattes, cakes, raw treats, iced cream, chocolates, cupcakes. Matcha not only adds a brilliant green color but also the many health benefits of green tea, and a stronger flavor that can compete with the other flavors in foods and beverages.
Storage:Store in a cool, dark, dry place. Light exposure will fade the powder and lower the quality!
