Botanical Name: Ilex guayusa
Production: this tea is cut from the green Guayusa leaf (pronounced gwhy-you-sa), native to Amazonian Ecuador and a close botanical relative to yerba mate.
Qualities:Guayusa has been part of Amazonian culture in Ecuador and cultivated forthousands of years, as it is still today. It is treasured for its unique balance of caffeine, antioxidants, vitamins, amino acids, and its energizing effect that is similar to that of coffee and yerba mate.
Common use:brew 5-7 minutes for an olive green colored naturally caffeinated herbal infusionthatcankeep your mind sharp and alert.Neutralaroma with a slightly grassy taste. Blends well with Lemongrass or Peppermint.
Storage:Store in a cool, dark, dry location in a sealed container.
